LOCAL
BUSINESSMAN DONATES TO AIKEN COUNTY EDUCATORS
Local
businessman, Mr. Robert Giancroce, co-owner of Mr. Central
Air Conditioning (Loretta Giancroce, is his wife and business
partner), is not only promoting superlative performance
among our educators, he is also hoping to inspire others
by donating $2500 in gift cards to the Aiken County Public

Aiken Performing Arts Group receives grant
The
Aiken Performing Arts Group received a grant from the
Community Foundation for the CSRA (grant- Augusta National
Endowment) to bring more music options to our students.

STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
South
Aiken High was recently named a Green Steps School during
the "Take Action Today" recycling workshop in
Columbia, SC. Green Steps Schools is an environmental
education initiative that encourages South Carolina schools
to take sustainable steps towards becoming more environmentally
responsible and eco-friendly. (more)
Schools
are up to PARR
Providing
our students and employees a safe learning and working
environment is a top priority for Aiken County Public
Schools. The South Carolina School Boards Insurance Trust
(SCSBIT) implemented the Premium and Risk Reduction (PARR)
program in an effort to minimize safety hazards in schools
and help districts maximize their long-term savings. Districts
choosing to participate in the program select at least
one school to meet the annual criteria and are eligible
to receive a five percent reduction in their workers’
compensation premiums. (more)
