6th Grade Math has added Everyday Math as a supplement to their regular curriculum.  Students are having fun and drilling on some very basic skills.

7th Grade Math is a transition from arithmetic to mathematics/pre-algebra.  The focus shifts from skill and drill of number facts and systems to the application of those things in a more in-depth manner.  Procedures becomes a strong focus due to working with variables and solving for unknowns.  Correct vocabulary and math symbols are stressed in every problem.

The 8th Grade Algebra and Pre-Algebra classes learn to write expressions and equations using symbols and variables instead of numbers only.  they can take these expressions and add, subtract, multiply, and divide as if they are working with numbers.
