Write Night at Belevedere Elementary

We loved Belvedere Elementary’s Write Night. We had lots of fun. We ate good food like hot dogs from Nathan’s, chips, and drinks.
We also got to meet Michael P. White. He has illustrated tons of children’s books like The Library Dragon. He uses an airbrush for most of his illustrations. He told us how it wasn’t easy to use an airbrush even though he makes it look so easy. He drew with us in our gymnasium. Mr. White showed us how to draw cartoon characters like funny pigs and cows. Some people got lucky enough to win one of his illustrations. Mr. White even let us share our ideas about funny names and stories about the illustrations. He also showed us some of the books he has illustrated.
There was a huge turn out of people, so Mr. White was happy about that! Even the parents were able to go and encouraged to participate with the drawing and writing. First, second, and third grade had the largest number of people attending.
Well, in closing, Belvedere Elementary had an awesome Write Night!
