LBC has many activities for students to choose from.  Some require athletic ability or
muscial talent, while others require excellent grades or good sportmanship.  Except for
Mr. Noel’s bowling club, all sports activities and cheerleading require a student to be in
7th or 8th grade.  Students may sign up for band and strings as early as their 6th
grade registration, but chorus participants must audition in 7th or 8th grade.
Mrs. Tammy Smith sponsors LBC’s student council.  All student council officers are
chosen in April of the previous year during a school-wide vote by their classmates.
The remaining student council members are chosen in their individual homerooms by
the students in that homeroom.  Mrs. Smith organizes a variety of fund raising
activities throughout the year in order to provide incentives and support to staff and
students.  She also runs the canned food drive and spirit week.
Mrs. Sharon Alvanos sponsors LBC’s BETA club.  She organizes the Empty Stocking
Fund and Citizen of the Month and Year.  Mrs. Alvanos also organizes various other
fund raising activities in order to fund different civic causes.  Her members must be
on the honor roll and are inducted in the Fall and Spring.
Mrs. Deborah Mims sponsors the Academic Team.  These students must maintain
an A-B average and be willing to travel.  They academic competitions run from
September through February.
