The SAT will be given at NAHS on October 9, January 22, and June 4.  Cost of the test is $45.00.

The ACT will be given at Aiken High on September 11, Oct. 23, Dec.11, Feb. 12, and June 11.  The ACT is $48.00 with Writing and $33.00 without  Writing. 

Applying to College
Apply to at least 3 colleges by December 1st.  Applications are available online or in our office.  When you apply, bring the completed application or the online printout, a legal sized envelope, and 3 stamps to my office.  I will attach a transcript and SAT/ACT scores.  If you are applying to Clemson, USC Columbia, Georgia, or any out of state university, apply by October 1st

College Night/ Educational Opportunity Day

The CSRA College Night is Thursday, September 14, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the James Brown Arena.  All parents and students are encouraged to attend.

The Educational Opportunity Day at NAHS is September 14, from 9:45-10:45 a.m.  Juniors and Seniors will have approximately 20 minutes to talk with college representatives.

 

Graduation Requirements include 24 Units and passing scores on the HSAP in Mathematics and English Language Arts.   

4 English                         ˝ Government               
4 Math                            ˝ Economics                 
2 Science                        1 Social Studies Elective
1 Physical Science           1 PE or ROTC
1 US History                   1 Computer Science to include Keyboarding
7 Electives

1 additional elective must be in Foreign Language or a Career & Technology Course

Check your transcripts.  Be sure that all courses are listed and that your name is spelled correctly.  Errors should be reported to Mrs. Smiley in writing immediately.

College  Prep Requirements for 4 Year Public Colleges in South Carolina Class of 2011

4 CP English
4 Math (The 4th Math must be a higher level math such as Pre Calculus or Statistics.)
3 Lab Sciences to include Biology and Chemistry – the 3rd lab science must have Biology or Chemistry as a prerequisite.  Physical Science is not a lab science. 
2 Units of the same Foreign Language
3 Units of Social Science including US History, Economics and Government
1 Unit of Fine Arts
1 Unit of PE or ROTC
1 Unit as an elective such as: Computer Science or an additional English, Fine Arts, Foreign Language, Social Science,  Lab Science, or Math above the level of Algebra 2.

Individual colleges may have additional requirements.
