SC Book Awards
Each year, we pride ourselves in participating in the South
Carolina Book Awards. A state committee
of librarians, parents, and students select 25 picture books and 20 children’s
books. These books are considered to be
the “cream of the crop.” OWES orders
multiple copies of all of the nominees!
In February of each year…we vote for our favorite. Our favorite is then submitted as well as
other winning choices from schools across the state. The top winner in each category is announced
at the South Carolina Association of School Librarians conference which is held
in March. Our favorite is not always the
state favorite, but the process of reading great books is lots of fun!
