Concert Band
The Wagener-Salley High School Band program has continually set high
standards in concert band performance. The Wagener-Salley
Concert Band has participated for ratings at SCBDA festivals and displays
technique, musicianship, and utmost class in all of their performances.
The Concert Band will also perform this year at festival at USCA and North
Augusta High School. This year will mark the first collaboration with
Ridge-Spring Monetta High School for concert performances.
Wagener-Salley is privileged to feature a very fine band at the concert
level. The ensemble is taught in a full-year course within the
curriculum of Wagener-Salley High School. Wagener-Salley's concert
bands present at least three annual concerts in a variety of venues,
including performances at A.L. Corbett Middle School. The band also
performs annually at Wagener-Salley High School’s graduation ceremony.
During the fall semester, all concert band students participate in the War
Eagle marching band. In the spring, students are placed by audition
into the Concert Band for the following school year. Wagener-Salley
consistently has a representation of students in County Honor Band, and has
placed students in Region 2 and All-State Bands. Many Wagener-Salley
musicians choose to perform in the annual solo and ensemble festival, where
they have a great opportunity to expand their musical horizons, while
learning from those in the musical profession.
