No Child Left Behind

No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (Public Law 107-110) is a federal law signed on January 8, 2002. It reauthorized several federal programs aimed at improving the performance of U.S. primary and secondary schools. NCLB provides parents with greater flexibility in selecting where their children attend school. It also developed standards of accountability for states and school districts based on the belief that high standards and expectations will help students to succeed.
